# Sauron.wiki > Sauron.wiki is an independent League of Legends build analysis tool. It compares simulated champion damage per second (DPS), survivability, and item builds, and shows role rankings and comparisons with popular Emerald+ builds. ## Key pages - [Home](https://sauron.wiki/): Simulation methodology, champion selection, role rankings, and median build gains. - [Tier list](https://sauron.wiki/tier-list): Champions grouped by role and ranked by simulated DPS. - [Build gap](https://sauron.wiki/build-gap): Calculated builds compared with each champion's most popular Emerald+ build, ranked by DPS or survival gain. ## Champion pages Follow champion links on the home page or tier list. Each page uses the champion's lowercase Riot ID as its path, for example [Ashe](https://sauron.wiki/ashe). Champion pages show level-18 combat analysis, item builds, purchase paths, and a DPS-versus-survival Pareto frontier. Users can select Recommended, Unrestricted, AP only, or AD only build views and compare custom builds. AP and AD restrictions refer to item stats, not damage types; both views include basic attacks and abilities. ## Methodology and limits - Average Emerald+ champion stats define the defense and DPS dummies. - Damage is simulated against the defense dummy over a 10-second window. Survival is simulated against the DPS dummy. - The Pareto frontier shows builds where no other build found is better at both DPS and survival. - Build Gap scores popular and calculated builds with the same level-18 combat engine. - Recommended build classification uses popular-build AP/AD investment when available, with a simulated-DPS fallback. - Results depend on the current data generation, combat model, target assumptions, and supported champion mechanics. Build searches are not proven global optima. - Simulated rankings are not win-rate rankings and do not guarantee in-game performance. Some results can be unavailable or still being calculated. ## Read-only data The app is a React single-page application. Interactive pages require JavaScript and backend data. Tools that cannot render JavaScript can read this guide and the following JSON endpoints: - [Champion roster](https://sauron.wiki/api/champions): Champion IDs, names, roles, and images. - [Static data status](https://sauron.wiki/api/static-data/status): Data versions and sync status. - [Combined DPS scores](https://sauron.wiki/api/dps/level-18/combined): Simulated champion DPS rankings. - [Build comparisons](https://sauron.wiki/api/meta-comparison): Calculated versus popular builds. - [Survival comparisons](https://sauron.wiki/api/survival-comparison): Calculated versus popular build survival. Use IDs from the roster for champion-specific GET endpoints: `/api/champions/{id}/build-analysis?view=auto` and `/api/champions/{id}/survival`. Build analysis also supports `combined`, `combined_ap`, and `combined_ad` views. To compare matching results, request survival with the analysis result's `metric` as `view` and its `generation` as `generation`. Calculations can take time; report missing data rather than invent results. ## Contact and attribution - [X profile](https://x.com/0xDeantoshi): Profile linked in the site footer. - Sauron.wiki is not endorsed by Riot Games.
